Brewing Our Coffee

Coffee is a drink. Once beans have been picked, roasted, and blended, there is still one extremely important step remaining: turning beans into a drinkable coffee. Given how much care we place into the other steps, it should be of no surprise that we are very precise about this step as well.

Water is the first component of this process. We require the water we use to be very clean, and have a proper pH. The temperature must also be just right: if it is too high, it can damage the coffee. If it is too low, it won't draw out the taste of the coffee properly.

Coffee must be brewed very quickly. If the brewing process takes too long, it can cause the drink to lose its taste. Because of this, coffee should be brewed with high pressure water to ensure that the brewing process can finish within our time constraints.

The coffee beans are very important as well. We grind them very finely to ensure that the maximum amount of taste can be drawn out of them. They must be brewed immediately, before flavor begins to escape. We recommend using a type of espresso machine certified by Artistic Coffee. However for those who are unable to obtain one of these machines, there is also a second, less optimal, method of brewing coffee.
